The CNC Technologist is responsible for programming, setting up, optimizing, and supporting CNC machining operations to ensure efficient production of high-quality parts. This role bridges engineering, production, and quality to improve machining processes, tooling, and cycle times while maintaining safety and compliance. Other duties include :
- Process Execution and Optimization :
Independently responsible for the daily programming, debugging, and optimization of CNC machining centers (familiar with mainstream systems such as Siemens, Heidenhain, and Fanuc).
Analyze and optimize existing machining processes to improve machining efficiency, tool life, and product surface quality.Develop and maintain standard operating procedures (SOPs), tool lists, machining parameter tables, and other process documentation.Technical Issue Resolution :
Quickly diagnose and resolve CNC machining quality issues on the production floor (e.g., dimensional deviations, chatter marks, burrs, deformation).
Lead the handling of tool abnormal wear, breakage, and other failures, analyze root causes, and implement corrective and preventive actions.Collaborate with the quality department on the analysis of non-conforming products (NCR) and process improvements.Fixture and Tooling Management :
Participate in the design review and acceptance of new project fixtures (special fixtures, vacuum fixtures, etc.).
Lead the improvement and optimization of existing fixtures to enhance clamping efficiency and stability.Responsible for tool selection, life management, and the implementation of cost-reduction initiatives, establishing a tool database.New Project Support :
Participate in preliminary process feasibility analysis for new projects, providing technical input from a CNC machining perspective.
Responsible for trial production programming and debugging of new products / components, and completing trial production reports.Assist in technical evaluation for capacity planning and equipment selection.Continuous Improvement and Team Collaboration :
Drive continuous improvement projects to enhance production efficiency (OEE) and reduce manufacturing costs (e.g., lean manufacturing, optimization of automated loading / unloading).
