About the Role :
We are seeking a skilled Welding Engineer to oversee and enhance our welding processes. This role involves reviewing and approving welding procedures, Procedure Qualification Records (PQR), and Inspection Test Plans (ITP), with a strong emphasis on adherence to ASME codes and standards (e.g., ASME Section IX).
Key Responsibilities :
Review and Approval :
- Evaluate and approve welding procedures to ensure they meet industry standards and project requirements.
- Assess Procedure Qualification Records (PQR) for compliance with specifications and codes.
- Review Inspection Test Plans (ITP) to ensure they align with project and regulatory standards.
Code and Standards Compliance :
- Ensure all welding processes and procedures comply with ASME codes and other relevant industry standards.
- Stay updated on changes to ASME codes and incorporate them into procedures and practices.
Technical Support :
- Provide technical guidance and support to welding teams and other engineering disciplines.
- Troubleshoot welding issues and recommend solutions to optimize performance and quality.
Documentation and Reporting :
- Maintain accurate records of welding procedures, qualifications, and compliance documentation.
- Prepare and present reports on welding performance, process improvements, and compliance audits.
Continuous Improvement :
- Identify areas for process improvement and implement best practices to enhance welding quality and efficiency.
- Conduct training sessions for staff on welding techniques, procedures, and code updates.
Support team in :
Mechanical joints Support, Pressure Vessels Support , Component Inspection and Testing, Pressure Boundary Support
Qualifications :
- Bachelor’s degree in Welding Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
- Professional certification (e.g., Certified Welding Engineer (CWE) or equivalent) preferred.
- Extensive knowledge of ASME codes and standards related to welding.
- Proven experience in reviewing and developing welding procedures, PQR, and ITP.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
