Position Overview
We are looking for a Property Management Intern to join our Beedie team with a dedicated focus to supporting our programming at Kingsgate Mall. This position will focus primarily on short-term leasing and event coordination by planning and executing on initiatives to help support programming at Kingsgate Mall. This position will support the Facility Coordinator and Property Manager with a variety of tasks to help promote and increase foot traffic in the mall. This position will plan and coordinate events and prepare short-term leasing strategies to increase public interest in the mall and grow Kingsgate Mall’s customer base throughout the community.
Key Responsibilities
EVENT PLANNING & COORDINATION
- Responsible for planning, organizing and executing event logistics with the assistance of our external event planner
- Develop event plans and carries out all arrangements around preparation for and managing successful events;
- Handles the delivery and co-ordination of major holiday events including, but not limited to Halloween, Thanksgiving, Christmas / New Years and other events as necessary; at times is involved in seeking sponsorship to support the delivery of these events;
- Play an active role in community marketing, including the coordination of community events and public consultation, including hosting the Kingsgate Mall booth at Main Street Festival, Car-Free Day and other community celebrations.
- Maintain a calendar of promotional activities internally and externally.
- Assist Beedie Property Management team with Tenant Appreciation events at Parker Street, Cancar and Alberta business park
SHORT TERM LEASING & PLANNING
Research innovative ideas and market trends for short-term vacancies at the mallPrepare financial proforma with recommendations for rates and fees for short-term mall programming opportunitiesOversee development of a short-term license agreement for space rentalResearching market trends and competitor initiatives to inform marketing strategySOCIAL MEDIA MANAGEMENT
Managing social media platforms, websites, or company blogsResearch, write, and distribute original content across internal and external communication channels including print, websites, intranets and social media networks, promoting a consistent image and identityADMINISTRATION
Performing administrative duties to support Beedie Property Management team as neededDesired Skills and Experience
