Platform Data Engineer

As we continue to scale, we’re looking for a highly skilled Lead Software Engineer to architect, build, and guide our next-generation gaming platform.

Role Overview

We are seeking a skilled and motivated Platform Data Engineer to join our dynamic team onsite in Vancouver. The ideal candidate will play a key role in building and maintaining scalable, reliable data infrastructure to support our data-driven initiatives. This position focuses on backend development, data ingestion, and orchestration. You will work with technologies such as Airbyte and Prefect to integrate new data sources and streamline workflows, while ensuring the platform remains stable, scalable, and up to date. Collaboration with cross-functional teams will be essential to enhance platform capabilities and drive continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities

• Maintain and monitor data pipelines (batch / streaming).
• Onboard new data sources and manage schema changes.
• Troubleshoot ETL / ELT issues and ensure data quality.
• Support inference / enrichment workflows from ML pipelines.
• Ensure the platform is lightning-fast, responsive, and capable of handling very high concurrency under heavy load.
• Write clean, optimized, and well-tested code while guiding the team with practical examples and technical leadership.
• Design infrastructure and codebases that are resilient, secure, and efficient, with a zero-compromise approach to cutting corners.
• Build and advance pipelines for seamless testing, quality assurance, and continuous delivery.
• Prioritize rigorous testing and QA processes, ensuring no technical debt or instability is introduced.
• Evaluate and implement emerging technologies to keep the platform at the cutting edge.
