Job Overview

The City of Swift Current is inviting applications for two permanent, full-time Streets & Roadways Operator positions. This role requires availability for shift work, on-call duties, overtime, and standby assignments, including nights, weekends, and holidays, with a 20-minute response time.

Reporting to the Manager of Streets & Roadways, the operators work as part of a crew responsible for maintenance of streets, sidewalks, bridges and guardrails, signage, storm sewer system / drainage and buildings. They also handle snow removal, sanding, street cleaning, pest control, flood monitoring and control, and assistance with street and roadway functions related to promotional events.

Required Qualifications

• Grade 12 diploma or GED.
• Valid Class 5 driver’s license.
• Proven ability to work well within a team.
• Physical ability to perform the assigned duties, at all times of the year, in various weather conditions and extreme temperatures.
• Completion of Respect Certification and a satisfactory Criminal Record Check will be required upon hire.
