Location : Garneau Hall Seniors Community - 10923 82 Ave NW, Edmonton, Alberta

Hours : Permanent Full-Time, FTE 1.0 (Days, Evenings and Weekends)

Openings - 2 Total :

  • 1 Opening - Day shifts and every second weekend
  • 1 Opening - Day / Evening shifts and every second weekend

We are currently seeking Health Care Aides with an interest and a passion for Recreation Therapy to join our team at our Garneau Hall location, located in Edmonton's vibrant Whyte Avenue / University community.

As a Recreation Aide at Garneau Hall, you will :

  • Provide resident-focused care within the full scope of an HCA in a home-like environment, respecting individuality, dignity, and diversity.
  • Collaborate with residents, families, and allied professionals to design and implement person-centered recreation programs.
  • Address residents' health and wellness needs holistically while ensuring safety and opportunities for independence.
  • Foster an inclusive and welcoming environment by working with residents, families, and volunteers to celebrate diversity and build community.
  • Promote dignity and optimal wellness through personalized care and recreational activities that align with each resident's abilities and preferences.
  • Balance the responsibilities of direct care and recreation support to enhance the quality of life for all residents.

  • What you bring :

  • Health Care Aide certificate (or equivalent) from an accredited institution
  • CPR / BLS for healthcare provider required.
  • Demonstrated skills in communication, teamwork, organization, and customer service.
  • Demonstrated knowledge and commitment to person-centered care.
  • Ability to problem solve through critical thinking.
  • Enthusiastic attitude and energy to provide excellent care and service
  • Minimum of 1 year working in recreation / activity programming and Dementia Care
