Job Description

Our client in the food manufacturing industry is seeking a PART TIME Bookkeeper to join their team. This role offers 10 hours per week and is 100% on site in Mississauga, ON. The Bookkeeper will play a critical role in maintaining accurate financial records. This position requires a high level of attention to detail, organizational skills, and proficiency in accounting principles.

Responsibilities :

  • Maintain and update financial records including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger entries.
  • Reconcile bank statements and ensure accuracy of all transactions.
  • Prepare and process invoices, expense reports, and other financial documents.
  • Assist with payroll processing and ensure compliance with relevant laws and regulations.
  • Monitor cash flow and prepare cash forecasts as needed.
  • Assist with month-end and year-end closing procedures.
  • Generate financial reports and provide analysis to support decision-making.
  • Collaborate with the finance team to develop and implement efficient accounting procedures.
  • Respond to inquiries from vendors, customers, and internal stakeholders regarding financial transactions.
  • Assist with audits and other financial reviews as required.

Qualifications :

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or related field.
  • Proven experience with capital leases required.
  • Proven experience in an Accounting or Bookkeeping role.
  • Proficiency in accounting software such as QuickBooks, Xero, or similar platforms.
  • Strong understanding of accounting principles and practices.
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Solid organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks effectively.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Knowledge of relevant laws and regulations governing financial transactions.
  • CPA certification (preferred but not required).
