Position Overview :
The Senior Accountant will be responsible for overseeing and enhancing our financial operations, ensuring accuracy in reporting, and driving cost efficiencies. Key Responsibilities :
- Full Cycle Accounting : Oversee the entire accounting operations ensuring accuracy and finding efficiencies.
- Inventory Management : Tighten inventory processes and improve cost accounting to ensure accurate tracking and control.
- Financial Leadership : Manage bank and credit card reconciliations, audit responsibilities, manual checks, and year-end financial processes.
- Expense Management : Identify and implement cost-saving measures across areas such as phones, alarms, and IT systems.
- Cash Conversion Cycle : Optimize the cash conversion cycle to improve financial efficiency.
- Project Accounting : Apply costing and project accounting expertise to support building and construction operations.
- Business Transformation : Evaluate current systems and processes, recommending and implementing IT upgrades to enhance efficiency.
- Trust & Relationships : Build strong relationships with ownership and team members, ensuring alignment with the company's culture and goals.
- Team Leadership : Supervise and mentor a team of four direct reports and other indirect reports, providing guidance and support in day-to-day operations.
- Advisory Role : Interpret financial data to guide decision-making and advise on accounting matters, ensuring compliance with industry standards and family business dynamics.

Requirements
CPA designation (or working towards CPA) is required.Minimum 5 years of experience in accounting roles, ideally within the building supplies or construction industry.Strong background in inventory management, cost accounting, and project costing.Proficiency in accounting software and IT systems.Proven ability to identify and implement cost-saving strategies.Experience managing audits and ensuring compliance with accounting standards.Exceptional analytical, evaluative, and advisory skills.Ability to handle both business and personal financial matters in a family business context.Strong communication skills and a collaborative mindset.Benefits
