Intermediate/Senior Construction Estimator

Our client, one of the leading civil construction companies in BC, is looking for an Estimator to join their team on a permanent basis.

Key Responsibilities :

• Support the estimating team with competent and timely work.
• Work within the framework of our client’s estimating and project management guidelines and best practices.
• Manage all takeoffs for the estimate, including overseeing assigned Interns or Project Coordinators.
• Read and understand contract documents and specifications.
• Collaborate with other estimators and project coordinators to deliver a competitive bid.
• Communicate with clients and sub-contractors about the estimate frequently throughout the process.
• Maintain accurate bid folders by organizing all addendums, quotes, drawings, and documents.
• Attend all Estimator's meetings and on / off-site bid meetings.

Ideal Candidate Requirements :

• Minimum 3 years of experience in estimating or a related field.
• Past local civil construction experience (considered an asset).
• AutoCAD experience (considered an asset).
• BC Class 5 driver's license.
• Proficiency in HeavyBid and Heavy Job (HCSS) software.
• Ability to complete accurate quantity takeoffs for various types of work including large-scale and detailed excavations, deep and shallow utilities, flatworks, earthworks, and miscellaneous works.
• Thrives in a fast-paced environment where meeting deadlines is essential.
• Ability to excel in a team atmosphere and collaborate with different personalities.
• Strong organizing and problem-solving skills.
• Good active listening skills and willingness to learn from coworkers.
