The ideal candidate will have the following background, skills and attributes :
- Completion of a University degree in Civil Engineering.
- Licensed as a Professional Engineer in Ontario (P.Eng.).
- Minimum 5 to 7 years of progressive related experience within a professional services environment.
- Project management experience; Demonstrated ability for, and interest in, business development.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team, with clients and other relevant stakeholders,
- Thorough knowledge in Municipal Engineering including policies, regulations, guidelines and operational procedures.
- Demonstrated experience in preliminary and detail design work with proven solid design capabilities; Excellent oral and written communication skills in English.
- Strong attention to detail, problem solving skills and ability to think creatively; Excellent interpersonal skills and an ability to work effectively independently or as part of a team.
- Possess a valid driver’s license and have access to a vehicle with valid registration and insurance.
Key Responsibilities :
- Assisting other intermediate and senior staff with engineering design on a variety of projects.
- Monitoring industry standards and developments, assessing client needs and making concrete decisions on proposed solutions.
- Monitoring project financial performance and invoicing clients promptly.
- Being a resource for municipal roadway design standards for other internal teams / disciplines.
- Participating in the preparation of engineering services proposals.
- Preparing technical designs, specifications and reports for a variety of municipal projects.
- Maintaining control of the schedule to ensure we deliver by agreed-upon due dates.
- Advancing projects through the concept, design, and construction phases, managing existing clients, and developing new clients.
- Design and design assistance and support to other Project Managers on project delivery.
- Liaising with clients, government and / or regulatory bodies as well as contractors.
- Maintaining positive client relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
