Our client in  Peel Region, ON is actively looking for a Payroll Benefits Specialist  to join their team.

Title : Payroll Benefits Specialist

Location : Peel Region, ON

Length of Assignment : Permanent

Salary : $, - $, / year

Responsibilities

  • Process bi-weekly salary payroll across multiplesites
  • Create and establish payroll guidelines and deadlines for all payroll requirements toensure accuracy and consistency in practice amongst payrollteam
  • Investigate and follow up in a timely manner on any payroll discrepancies and issues arisingat any of the servicedlocations
  • Communicate time and attendance issues to managers if a concernarises
  • Familiarity with Unions and application of bargaining unit rules inpayroll
  • Reconcile, prepare, audit and submit all reports and / or remittances within the requireddeadlines according to standard procedures on-line for all regulatory organizations WSIB, EHT,etc.
  • Perform and coordinate all year-end requirements / reconciliations including T, WSIB,etc.
  • Working with upper management to improve current payroll process and introducenew procedures.
  • Update and maintain Payroll / HRIS system to reflect the current company andemployee information
  • Process timely pension remittances to pensionplans
  • Administer STD and LTD benefit programs in accordance with establishedguidelines
  • Provide employees with employment letters and other employee verifications asrequested
  • Generate monthly scheduled and ad-hoc reports in the payroll system including but not limitedto Labor reports, headcount, overtime, attendance, hours worked and progressionincrements

Preferred Education and Experience

  • years' experience as a Payroll and Benefits Administrator in a multi-siteorganization. (Experience within a Manufacturing industry would bepreferred).
  • Experience and proficiency using Payroll systems, specifically ADP WorkForceNow -Enhanced and Essential Time andCeridian.
  • Experience partnering with HR aplus
  • CPA / PCP (payroll Compliance Practitioner) designationrequired
  • High commitment to strong customer servicelevels
  • Analytical and problem solvingskills
  • Solid communication and interpersonalskills
  • Ability to work collaboratively at all levels providing a prompt courteous service to allemployees
