Job Description

Position Summary

The Part-Time Server / Bartender provides friendly, efficient, and professional food and beverage service while ensuring compliance with Ontario labour standards and alcohol service regulations. This role contributes to a positive guest experience and supports smooth front-of-house operations.

Key Responsibilities

Guest Service

Greet guests promptly and courteously
Take food and beverage orders accurately using the POS system
Serve food and drinks in a timely manner
Check in with guests to ensure satisfaction and resolve concerns appropriately

Bartending Duties

Prepare and serve alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages to established standards

Verify valid government-issued ID and follow Smart Serve guidelines

Monitor alcohol consumption and refuse service when required by law

Maintain cleanliness and organization of the bar area

Operational Duties

Maintain clean and sanitary dining and bar areas in accordance with Public Health requirements

Complete opening, running, and closing side duties

Restock supplies and assist with basic inventory tasks

Follow all workplace health and safety policies

Cash & POS Handling

Process payments accurately (cash, debit, credit)

Follow cash handling and tip reporting procedures

Complete end-of-shift cash-outs as required

Qualifications & Requirements

Previous serving and / or bartending experience preferred

Smart Serve Ontario certification required

Strong communication and customer service skills

Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment

Reliable attendance and punctuality

Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 25 lbs

Scheduling & Hours (Ontario ESA Compliance)

Part-time hours as scheduled (typically under 30 hours per week)

Shifts may include evenings, weekends, and holidays

Overtime paid in accordance with the Ontario Employment Standards Act (ESA) after 44 hours in a week

Meal and rest breaks provided in accordance with ESA requirements

Compensation

Hourly wage in compliance with Ontario minimum wage for liquor servers

Tips and gratuities paid in accordance with company policy and Ontario law
