Position Summary
The Part-Time Server / Bartender provides friendly, efficient, and professional food and beverage service while ensuring compliance with Ontario labour standards and alcohol service regulations. This role contributes to a positive guest experience and supports smooth front-of-house operations.
Key Responsibilities
Guest Service
- Greet guests promptly and courteously
- Take food and beverage orders accurately using the POS system
- Serve food and drinks in a timely manner
- Check in with guests to ensure satisfaction and resolve concerns appropriately
Bartending Duties
Prepare and serve alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages to established standardsVerify valid government-issued ID and follow Smart Serve guidelinesMonitor alcohol consumption and refuse service when required by lawMaintain cleanliness and organization of the bar areaOperational Duties
Maintain clean and sanitary dining and bar areas in accordance with Public Health requirementsComplete opening, running, and closing side dutiesRestock supplies and assist with basic inventory tasksFollow all workplace health and safety policiesCash & POS Handling
Process payments accurately (cash, debit, credit)Follow cash handling and tip reporting proceduresComplete end-of-shift cash-outs as requiredQualifications & Requirements
Previous serving and / or bartending experience preferredSmart Serve Ontario certification requiredStrong communication and customer service skillsAbility to work efficiently in a fast-paced environmentReliable attendance and punctualityAbility to stand for extended periods and lift up to 25 lbsScheduling & Hours (Ontario ESA Compliance)
Part-time hours as scheduled (typically under 30 hours per week)Shifts may include evenings, weekends, and holidaysOvertime paid in accordance with the Ontario Employment Standards Act (ESA) after 44 hours in a weekMeal and rest breaks provided in accordance with ESA requirementsCompensation
Hourly wage in compliance with Ontario minimum wage for liquor serversTips and gratuities paid in accordance with company policy and Ontario lawWorkplace Standards
