Lead Customer Project Support Engineer / Specialist (Protection / SCADA / Telecom Panel Design)
Scope
Responsible for designing, programming, testing, and commissioning of protection, SCADA, telecom, and control panels for Generator Protection, Generator Excitation, Transformer Protection, Feeder Protection, Bus Protection, Line Protection System, and SCADA System. Reports to CCS Engineering Manager or assigned Team Leader.
Major Responsibilities
Analyze customer applications / specifications and design protection and control panel layouts, single line diagrams, schematic diagrams, power diagrams, control diagrams, Bill of Materials, engineering instructions, wiring drawings, wire lists, and wire tags using AutoCAD / Ebase / Oracle / SAP.
Take full technical execution responsibility for assigned projects.
Review customer specifications and related documents for the project.
Coordinate design requirements with customers and internal teams.
Create test plans, procedures, and reports.
Test customized protection and control solutions both in-house and at customer installations.
Provide field support up to and including commissioning of new applications.
Analyze and troubleshoot field cases involving GE Multilin Protection and Control products.
Travel up to 20–40% depending on project assignments.
Provide training, peer checks, and design support to team members.
Develop training materials / videos for Ebase to assist team members.
Qualifications / Requirements
University degree in Electrical Engineering.
Minimum 5 years of experience in panel design, analyzing and creating specifications, single line diagrams, schematic diagrams, control diagrams, wiring drawings, and power diagrams related to relay protections and control using AutoCAD / Ebase.
Detailed knowledge of design, studies, specifications, and implementation in electrical generation, transmission, and distribution systems.
Strong knowledge of power systems, protection schemes, and communication applications.
Experience creating test and maintenance procedures for factory and site testing and commissioning protection panels.
Ability to apply advanced technical engineering concepts and LEAN processes to practical business problems.
Experience programming GE Multilin family of relays, specifically the UR Family.
Experience designing power system control schemes (Transfer Schemes, Auto-restoration Schemes).
Excellent understanding of theoretical bases for major protection principles including Distance, Line Differential, Transformer Differential, Bus, Feeder, Generator, and Large Motor protection.
Demonstrated team player with initiative to lead and mentor others.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills; ability to work in a multicultural environment.
