Description
The Salvation Army Christmas Kettle Campaign is part of a century old tradition to contribute towards building strong communities by helping TSA to give hope to other.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES :
Incumbent may perform all, some, or similar range of duties as below.
- Remain at the Kettle for the full shift (until relieved), ensuring security of donations received.
- Respond to questions / queries from potential donors regarding SA ministries and programs.
- Present a positive image (well-groomed / dressed) and represent TSA well while on duty.
- Work with minimal supervision.
- Must comply with all Salvation Army policies, procedures, and associated legislation.
- Treat the property of The Salvation Army with due care and caution.
- Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
CRITICAL RELATIONSHIP MANAGEMENT
Governance Boards and Councils : n / a
Internal : TSA staff members, Kettle campaign team
External : Community members
MANAGERIAL RESPONSIBILITY :
- Reports directly to Kettle Coordinator.
- Direct reports : n / a.
FINANCIAL AND MATERIALS MANAGEMENT :
Collect donations and petite cash and ensure donations are always kept secure.
Working Conditions :
- Work environment is typically in malls / stores
- Standing for long periods will be required and exposure to cold weather

Qualifications and education requirements :
Some high school coursework, completion of high school is an asset.
Experience :
- Up to one year of related experience or working in customer service.
- Money handling experience is an asset.
- Related experience is an asset.
PREFERRED SKILLS / CAPABILITIES :
- Willingness to develop an understanding and support for the mission and purpose of The Salvation Army in Canada and its implications as related to position responsibilities.
- Work in compliance with OH&S Act and Regulations and abide by The Salvation Army’s health and safety policies and procedures.
- Ability to provide an original copy of a Background Check that is satisfactory to The Salvation Army, in its sole discretion, is required, including Child Check (if appropriate).
- Enthusiastic Team Player with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Able to lift 9 to 12 kgs (20 25 lbs).
- Strong customer service skills; enjoy liaising and working with people of all ages and abilities.
- Willingness to be flexible and work well under pressure with daily timelines and changing priorities.
- Ability to maintain strict confidentiality in the handling of donor, volunteer, and organizational information.
WORKING CONDITIONS :
Full Time and Part Time seasonal contracts available - Please state which you prefer when submitting your resume. Contracts start November 22nd, 2024, and conclude on December 24th, 2024.
