Description

The Project Manager I provides value to VC3 and its clients through planning, coordination, and control of the various activities required to turn an idea or strategy into reality.

The project manager is responsible for the success of each project and works closely with project stakeholders to identify and respond to any risks that have the potential to jeopardize this success.

The Project Manager I will be responsible for managing projects of a small-medium scope & scale.

This challenging position is responsible for managing a variety of projects for new and existing VC3 clients. The Project Manager I will be involved with a range of projects and will need to utilize excellent project management and communication skills to facilitate activities across departments.

This involves resource scheduling, vendor management, purchasing coordination, performance-to-contract reporting and various administrative functions.

Key Responsibilities

Understand and follow The VC3 Way . This is our set of standards and processes that produce a predictable result for the client.

You must be aware of and maintain our standards

  • Management of the project lifecycle (planning through closure)
  • Maintain excellent stakeholder communication throughout the project
  • Ensure delivery of external (end-user) documentation
  • Ensuring budget and timeline adherence, reporting variances
  • Maintain accurate project information (eg. budgeted hours, revenue) within our project tracking system
  • Completion & management of change orders where required
  • Risk management foreseeing and mitigating
  • Schedule and coordinate resources across departments
  • Act as a contact between clients, vendors and VC3 resources
  • Track and confirm all hardware and software delivery to client
  • Plan and monitor implementation activities
  • Prepare weekly status reports for both management and clients
  • Maintaining client satisfaction through project planning & communication, and obtaining feedback on project success (client satisfaction surveys)
  • Complete internal Post Implementation Reviews (PIR), gather lessons learned and share with appropriate resources
  • Ensure successful billing / invoicing of projects upon appropriate milestone or closure
  • Coordinate and communicate handoff of projects at closure, including service delivery handoffs

Additional Responsibilities :

  • Maintain accurate and real time timesheets, record complete and accurate notes of troubleshooting and communication with clients
  • Receive mentoring and feedback from peers and others
  • Provide support and back-up for other members of the Project Management Office
  • Where appropriate, escalate complicated issues to a more senior resource or other appropriate teams
  • Review Tickets with Manager
  • Actively Participate in Team Huddles, L10 Meetings, One on One Meetings, and any other Team Meetings
  • Create and update documentation when changes or occur, or when discoveries are made
  • Attend monthly training & team meetings as required
  • Additional duties as required

Skills, Knowledge and Expertise

  • Good problem solving and decision-making skills; ability to understand and analyze complex issues
  • Self-motivated, detail orientated, highly organized and able to handle a variety of tasks and responsibilities in an efficient manner with a high level of quality
  • Completion of an accredited 2-year post-secondary diploma in Computer Systems / Engineering or equivalent business experience
  • 1-2 years of relevant industry experience
  • 1 year of project management / coordination experience
  • PMP / CAPM not required but preferred
  • Conceptual knowledge of enterprise IT infrastructure, applications and processes
  • Excellent oral and written communication; Communicates in a timely, professional and respectful manner
  • A proven track record for excellence in client service

Additional information you will want to know :

  • Applicant selected will be subject to a criminal and department of motor vehicles background checks and must meet Criminal Justice Information Systems (CJIS) requirements post-employment
  • Ability to travel to client locations or in person company meetings; less than 20%
