Job description

Please note this role will work in a hybrid environment. The successful candidate will be working at the Toronto (67 College Street) OR Brampton (100 Parkshore Drive) site office and will be working a mixture of on-site and off-site work based on the parameters for our operations to meet the needs of our donors our staff and our communities. Currently employees are expected to have an in-person presence for at least 40% of their work time. This requirement may vary depending upon circumstances.

    About the role

    Canadian Blood Services is looking for a Regular full-time Regional Development Manager to join our dynamic Donor Relations and Field Operations team in our Donor Engagement and Corporate Reputation division (DECR).

    The Donor Relations and Field Operationsteam is responsible for supporting Canadian Blood Services bygenerating and identifying leads building a pipeline of potential donors building relationships and ensuring the growth and maintenance of a high quality committed donor this role you will also be responsible for community engagement and maintaining a good public image for the donation centres to ensure there is ongoing public support.

    In this role you will be responsible for leading recruitment efforts to grow and diversify a flexible sustainable donor base. You will play a critical role in ensuring that recruitment initiatives align with the organizations goals and values. You will work closely with peers within the region to develop a sustainable donor base and ensure a robust pipeline to support the commitment of Canadas Lifeline to patients and registrants. You will also be responsible for leading a regional team to develop nurture and grow the organizations donor base in a Business-to-Business (B2B) environment. This role oversees Business Development Managers and Community Development Managers to drive partner and group acquisition retention growth and engagement.

  • Leveraging your demonstrated knowledge and expertise in sales and donor recruitment you will develop and implement recruitment strategies to meet organizations donor base targets ensuring alignment with overall business goals. Identify target markets customer segments and key accounts to prioritize recruitment efforts. Analyze market trends and customer needs to adjust recruitment strategies and tactics accordingly.
  • Utilizing your exceptional relationship building skills you will collaborate with senior leadership to align recruitment strategies with the organizations objectives multi-product offerings and value add positioning.
  • Drawing on leadership and team management skills you will lead motivate and manage the recruitment team to achieve individual and team recruitment targets. Provide ongoing coaching training and performance feedback to ensure continuous improvement and professional development. Foster a positive high-performance recruitment culture through effective leadership recognition and motivation.
  • You will be responsible for setting clear sales goals and KPIs for team members and regularly monitor performance to ensure targets are met.
  • Harnessing your excellent organization and data analytical skills you will track measure and report on key recruitment metrics including conversion rates donor acquisition and retention activity levels. Provide regular reports on recruitment performance trends and insights to senior leadership offering recommendations for improvements. Analyze recruitment data and market feedback to optimize recruitment processes address obstacles and improve results.
  • Focusing on your strong interpersonal and excellent customer service skills you will build and maintain strong relationships with key clients and prospects ensuring high levels of customer satisfaction and loyalty.
  • You will oversee the recruitment pipeline ensuring opportunities are being followed up on managed efficiently and converted into engagement.
  • Applying your exceptional negotiation and time management skills you will assist the recruitment team in closing complex or high-value deals providing guidance on recruitment strategies and negotiation tactics. Support ongoing recruitment training programs to ensure that the team has the skills knowledge and tools necessary to succeed.
  • Using your ability to adapt quickly to changing market conditions you will stay up to date on industry trends competitor activities and recruitment best practices and ensure the team is equipped with the latest insights and techniques.
  • You will work closely with the marketing team to ensure that recruitment efforts are aligned with lead generation promotional campaigns and branding initiatives.
  • Leveraging your creative problem-solving and prioritization skills you will coordinate with the national development team national contact centre support and operations teams to ensure a seamless optimum experience and resolve any issues that may arise during the recruitment process.
  • Drawing on your strong communication and presentation skills you will be responsible for providing feedback to senior leadership regarding group / partner / customer needs competitive trends and recruitment challenges.
  • Desired education and skills

  • Completion of a post-secondary level education in a relevant discipline from a recognized academic institution preferably in business marketing communications or a related field.
  • 3 years of experience in leadership roles focused on sales donor engagement retention or growth in a nonprofit or B2B environment.
  • Valid drivers licence and access to a reliable vehicle is required.
  • CRM Proficiency : Experience with customer relationship management (CRM) software and tracking systems.
  • An equivalent combination of education training and experience may be considered.

  • This role will work in a hybrid environment with requirements to be onsite at Canadian Blood Services location 40% of the time / 2 days of the week.
  • You may be expected to travel a couple of times per year and as required.
