What You’ll Do
Meet daily with project crews to review schedule, confirm materials, equipment, and resources are available to keep production on schedule and within budget.Collect, coordinate, and analyze shop drawings, design specifications, material requirements and project data throughout the project to ensure quality and contract specification compliance.Provide technical input for project work plans and scheduling, identifying risk elements that could negatively impact the budget or schedule.Evaluate daily production, schedule, and budget projections to accurately track project performance, documenting daily activities in company‑approved methods and technologies.Notify team members and manager of significant schedule changes and recommend solutions.Perform additional assignments per management’s direction.Remit accurate project quantity input and control using assigned project cost coding to ensure financials are reported accurately. Manage cost coding with finance and accounting regarding employee time, materials, equipment, and subcontractor needs.Review project specifications for quality control at job commencement, throughout, and upon completion. Initiate and manage certificates, inspections, and documentation regarding construction production.Work with construction crews and engineering leaders to plan field layout and initiate permits.Coordinate subcontractor work methods, schedule, and crews as needed.Reconcile job close‑out checklist with owner representative and field crews.Perform other duties and responsibilities as required.What You Bring
Post‑secondary education in Civil Engineering or Construction Management, or equivalent combination of education and experience.Minimum of 3–5 years experience as a Field Engineer or Project Coordinator, ideally in heavy‑civil project engineering.Knowledge of construction equipment, techniques, drawings, specifications, building materials, and applicable standards.Proficiency in construction‑related software (e.g., Primavera, AutoCAD, SAP).Excellent computer skills, including MS Office (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint).Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.Flexibility to work in both field and office.Valid BC driver’s license.Aecon fosters diversity, inclusion and belonging within and across our organization.
