We're looking for on-call Automation Technicians to join our Montreal Technical Studios team. If you're ready to get involved in exciting projects with a global scope, you've come to the right place.

As an On-Call Automation Technician, you will work exclusively at Cirque du Soleil headquarters in Montreal. As an on-call employee, you'll enjoy flexibility : no fixed hours or binding obligations.

The On-Call Technician, under the direction of the Department Manager - Automation, is responsible for various tasks, including :

• Ensure the safety of artists during training sessions;
• Identify and report any unsafe environment, equipment or practices, and propose an alternative solution;
• Ensure compliance with established studio, health & safety and other protocols, standards and regulations related to the use of automated equipment;
• Install and inspect automation equipment in accordance with studio protocols;
• Operate automated equipment during training sessions, in accordance with studio protocols, as required;
• Follow studio safety protocols when working with electrical applications;
• Manage acrobatic equipment in conjunction with automated equipment as required;
• Perform inspections of acrobatic equipment as required, in accordance with studio standards;
• Respect and maintain schedules related to artistic and technical work at the Studio;
• Work closely with other departments to respond to all customer requests;
• Maintain a professional relationship with customers and studio staff;
• Assist with maintenance tasks to maintain a professional aesthetic appearance in accordance with studio practices;
• Perform all other related duties as requested by supervisor;
• Train other departments as needed to meet customer requirements.

You possess the following educational, professional, and technical skills :

• College diploma (or equivalent) in show or theater production (or equivalent work experience);
• Previous experience as a show or event operator with automated equipment;
• Previous experience and / or training in entertainment motion control software (Navigator, Raynok, e-Chameleon, Show Control);
• Technical knowledge of automated equipment (Electronics, Mechanics, Computers and Networking);
• Previous training and / or experience working with electrical applications;
• General understanding of all technical aspects of a show;
• Ability to work at heights;
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision;
• Good communication skills;
• Flexibility, autonomy and team spirit;
• Ability to adapt to the unexpected and work under pressure;
• Ability to work as part of a team and a strong sense of customer service.
• Knowledge of Microsoft Office applications in the Windows environment;
• Fluency in spoken and written French and English;
• Willingness to work flexible hours;
• Ability to operate machinery such as a forklift or aerial work platform;
• Previous training and / or experience as a rigger in an entertainment environment is an asset.
