Job description

Are you looking for a Permanent, exciting career in the Kitchener area as an Extruder Operator? Are you looking for a straight afternoon shift? Hoping to operate cutting-edge extrusion equipment in the heart of our dynamic plastics manufacturing facility? If you have 3-5 years of hands-on experience, thrive in a fast-paced environment, and possess a keen eye for quality control, we want you on our team!

As an Extruder Operator, you will be the backbone of our production process, responsible for operating extrusion equipment, troubleshooting, conducting clean downs, creating packaging labels, building packaging, handling repacks, and ensuring the smooth movement of Finished Goods packages. Your duties will also include conducting on-line quality checks, such as PPG and SPC recording, and contributing to overall process optimization.

Responsibilities

Weighing and blending raw materials with precision.

Adhering to working rules, Health & Safety Policies, and procedures.

Maintaining a safe and orderly work area.

Recording operating conditions on the work order and addressing quality concerns.

Making necessary operating adjustments to ensure product quality.

Properly cleaning down equipment on color and product changes.

Manually packaging finished goods with utmost care.

Creating and applying product, customer-specific, and GHS labels as per procedure.

Moving finished goods to the staging area.

Ensuring a clean, safe, and orderly work area.

Qualifications

3 to 5 years prior experience in a manufacturing environment

Experience in plastic extrusion processes, single and twin screw technologies is a plus

Forklift experience

Lift up to 50 pounds

Manual dexterity to work with hand tools and operate equipment

Strong math skills.

Proficient computer skills

Must be smoke free

Able to be clean shaven and wear a respirator at times
