Job Description
Functioning as a team player, contributes to the promotion and treatment of health conditions by performance and interpretation of diagnostic laboratory tests, ensuring optimum patient care.
Contribute to safe, quality care by :
- Accessioning of specimens and gross dissection / dictation of small uncomplicated specimens.
- Under the supervision of a Pathologist prepares surgical specimens for frozen sectioning examination.
- Performs embedding techniques and microtomy to produce acceptable quality slides.
- Performs manual and automated routine and special stains including immunohistochemistry as required.
What must you have?
- Medical Laboratory Technologist (MLT) General Diploma from a recognized school of Medical Laboratory Technology.
- Current registration in good standing with the College of Medical Laboratory Technologists of Ontario (CMLTO).
- Current experience in Histology (embedding, microtomy, routine and special staining) required.
What else do you bring?
- Experience with gross dissection preferred.
- Experience with immunohistochemistry an asset.
- Proven attendance record.
