SHUNTER (AZ License required)

Full time position : 40 hours a week.

Schedule : Sunday, Monday, Wednesday, Thursday, Fridy 9 : 00PM to 05 : 00AM,

Starting hourly wage : $27.87 (hourly wage $25.91 + shift premium $0.70 + COLA $1.26).

Full range of benefits upon completion of probation period.

The Shunter maneuvers trailers within freight yards for loading and unloading. The Shunter shall also ensure safe, efficient operations, maintain equipment, and adhere to strict safety protocols.

Key tasks include trailer inspection and accurate record-keeping.

Duties prioritize but are not limited to shunting. The selected candidate shall also conduct dock attendance duties and tasks related to warehouse work.

Responsibilities :

  • Operate shunt truck to move trailers and containers within the yard
  • Inspect vehicles for defects and report any issues to maintenance team
  • Ensure trailers and containers are safely secured and properly positioned
  • Keep accurate records of movements and trailer locations
  • Communicate with other personnel to coordinate movements and prioritize tasks
  • Follow safety procedures and regulations at all times
  • Assist with loading and unloading of trailers / containers as needed
  • Perform basic safety checks on shunt truck

Requirements :

  • Valid commercial driver's license with air brake certification (AZ license)
  • Proven experience as a shunt truck driver
  • Excellent hand-eye coordination and depth perception
  • Ability to operate the shunt truck safely and efficiently in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong communication skills to interact with other drivers and warehouse staff
  • Attention to detail to ensure accurate placement of trailers
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including days, evenings, nights weekends and holidays
  • Physical stamina to sit, stand, and walk for long periods, and lift repeatedly up to 40 pounds
