About the Opportunity
Under the direction of the Nutrition and Food Services Manager, the Clinical Team Leader coordinates, monitors and evaluates the efficient provision of Medical Nutrition Therapy as it relates to their clinical team area.
Following the principles of team leadership, the Team Leader will work closely with other team leaders to ensure consistent, equitable, timely and coordinated care is provided to the patients.
The Team Leader will coach and provide guidance for problem solving in relation to employee conflicts, team, and group dynamics.
They will act as resource in supporting and assisting Dietitians with day-to-day operations, coach and foster team processes that facilitate patient-centered services within the whole continuum of care.
Ensuring patient care is based on best practice evidence and sound clinical evidence, they will facilitate the coordination of in-service education and professional development in their clinical team grouping in alignment with the department and team goals.
They will participate in quality improvement initiatives. The Team Leader reviews the teams vacation requests and makes coverage recommendations within existing staffing levels.
The Team Leader will identify and coordinate with Nutrition and Food Services Manager when staffing issues occur. The Team Leader may participate in the interview process of staff and assist with the scoring and selection of candidates for available job positions.
The Team Leader will develop and revise orientation and team manuals in partnership with other team leaders and managers, orientate new staff to group processes, departmental policies and work sites and coordinate orientation and in-services to new work areas.
About You
We would love to hear from you if you have the following :
- Bachelor of Science in Human Nutrition at recognized University or Bachelor of Science in Home Economics required
- Licensure by Nova Scotia Dietetic Association required
- Completion of Dietetic Internship required
- Three (3) years related experience required
- Membership in Dietitians of Canada
- Demonstrates leadership qualities and a good understanding of the team leadership model
- Strong problem-solving skills
- Superior level of communication
- Demonstrates sound judgement, common sense, flexibility, and compassion
- Coaching ability and diplomacy when dealing with patients, co-workers, and persons in the community
- Demonstrates initiative, be self-motivated and work independently
- Commitment to high quality, innovative services
- Establish and maintain good working relationships with patients. Colleagues, management, community agencies, academic settings, students and volunteers
- Competencies in other languages an asset, French preferred

Permanent, Part-Time / 50% FTE / 37.5 Hours Biweekly
Compensation and Incentives
$38.07 - $46.36 Hourly
