Job Title : QA Engineer
Primary Skills : Twilio, jira / confluence, QA (manual / blackbox), backend system
Location : Canada - Remote
Duration : 12+ Months
RESPONSIBILITIES
Design, develop and maintain test plan / test cases with a focus on Ask-A-Vet (AAV) features, (Twilio, OKTA, PIMS related technology)
Work closely with the assigned scrum team (Product Owner, Engineering Owner, TPM, DevOps) to build reliable and scalable test suites / matrix
Analyze current QA practices and assist test automation to build automation suites (functionality, regression, smoke, sanity, etc.
to minimize or eliminate inefficiencies in the testing process using browserstack and manual test technique.
Contribute in design review meetings to help define requirements and potential impact to testing
Triage bugs and provide sprint reports / QA scorecard
Participate in release management / production environment validation and provide QA
feedback / sign off.
Take ownership and drive matter to closure
TECHNICAL SKILLS
5-7+ years experience of functional QA (manual / blackbox)
5-7+ years experience in infrastructure testing
Experience working on dual-interface application (service provider / service consumer) type of application like call centers or communication platforms
Experience working on mobile applications
Experience with Twilio is a plus
Familiarity with jira / confluence
Clear and detailed verbal and written communication skills
Logical, creative thinker, problem solver and can troubleshoot across multiple platforms
Passion for writing clean, maintainable code
Practiced time estimation and management skills
Demonstrate ability to execute and improve upon existing QA processes and workflows
Ability to work with minimal supervision while remaining on-task and deadline oriented
Demonstrates opinionated view based on experience in questioning / pushing back on requirements, UX design and engineering implementation.
Comfortable writing documentation
Asks questions and willingness to learn
Critical thinking and debugging skills
Practice QA best practice and continuously improve QA processes
