ORGANIZATION : The BC-CfE is a world-renowned HIV / AIDS Centre with an innovative, low-barrier approach to healthcare delivery in clinical practice and an integrated group of research concentrations in Laboratory Sciences, Clinical Trials, Population Health and Epidemiology, Health Economics and Professional Education Programs. A multidisciplinary team of clinicians including Physicians, Nurses, Social Workers and Peers and researchers including Health Economists, Epidemiologists, Clinical Researchers, Statisticians, Programmers, and Data Analysts work collaboratively to improve the health of British Columbians with HIV and communities facing socio-economic barriers in accessing healthcare.
We host and manage our servers and network infrastructure in-house ensuring maximum security, control, and customization tailored to our specific needs. About 40 Linux virtual servers are running in the VMware ESXi infrastructure, hosting ZFS, File / Email servers, Oracle database server, Application server and Web server roles. We look after about 350 computers including Macs and Windows (the majority is Mac) and about 100 peripherals devices.
ROLE SUMMARY : We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Systems and Network Security Administrator to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have extensive knowledge and hands-on experience in monitoring and securing Network Infrastructure, Linux / Unix system, VMware infrastructure environment and endpoint system.
In the role you will operate independently and as part of a team to ensure our software, hardware, and related components are protected from cyberattacks. The position will include developing security systems, analyzing current systems for vulnerabilities and maintaining up-to-date software / firmware for all networked enterprise and industrial devices. Candidates should have strong IT skills and a deep understanding of computer / network vulnerabilities.
