The Controller position is a permanent opportunity in the Winnipeg, Manitoba region. You will succeed in this position if you can plan and direct all accounting operational functions, handle the accumulation and consolidation of financial data for internal and external financial statements, evaluate accounting and internal control systems, and lead departmental staff. This role's duties will require effectively managing self and others within strict time constraints when providing client services, leading while also being a team player, generating innovative ideas, and challenging the status quo. Your responsibilities

- Able to perform additional tasks beyond formal job duties

- Manage finance department operations, including accounts payable, billings & collections, and payroll

- Prepare cash-flow reports, projecting cash needs at weekly and monthly intervals, daily cash management

- Manage the creation of the annual budget and forecasts and monitor them on a monthly basis

- Present monthly financial reports to executive committee and partners

- Research, plan and implement Finance Department initiatives including software and systems implementation and other departmental or firm-wide improvements, as needed

- Manage monthly and annual close of income statement and balance sheet, the reconciliations of accounts, and G/L analysis

- Support punctual cash collection by managing the timing for monthly billing and other cash management techniques

- Collaborate with executive team and partners to make efficient and effective firm-wide operation possible

- Evaluate, apply and refine policies, procedures, controls and most methodologies

- Meet client expectations by reviewing deliverables of self and team to make sure they meet client satisfaction

Job Requirements:

- Experience in Manufacturing a must have

- Strong communication and social skills and able to receive criticism well

- Costing experience

- CPA experience required

- Epicor experience preferred

- Ability to prioritize deals and adapt to quick changes while remaining diligent, and to thrive in a dynamic, high pressure environment

- Outstanding technology, analytics and management experience required

- Strong communication skills, excellent interpersonal skills, both oral and written, and ability to build as well as deliver effective presentations

- Self-driven motivator who takes initiative on projects with a strong ability to understand and solve creative challenges

- Ability to meet deadlines

- Observant, accurate and able to thrive in a fast-paced environment

- BA/BS in Accounting, Finance, Economics or other business related field

- Exemplary analytical, quantitative and social skills

- 5+ years of progressive accounting experience, including as a Controller preferred
