Summary : AGAT Laboratories is currently hiring for a Laboratory Technician to join our Inorganics / Environmental working out of our St.

John’s, NL facility. This position is an entry level position where one can gain career experience in a laboratory with direction from the Laboratory Manager and other Laboratory team members.

The successful candidate will assist with administrative and basic laboratory activities. This is a seasonal, contractual position.

The start date for the position is May 1st, 2024 and the end date is November 29th. 2024 . Depending on production needs, the contract may be extended.

Schedule : Tuesday to Saturday from 8am to 5 : 00 pm . It is a full time hours position (40 hours of work per week). Duties : Perform basic laboratory procedures including preparation of samples, reagents and calibration solutions.

Provide general lab support including washing glassware, cleaning work stations and waste disposal. Calibrate, operate, maintain and troubleshoot intermediate instruments.

Compile, verify and validate accurate data records. Meet quality assurance and turn around specifications. Follow all Quality Control and Standard Operating Procedures.

Report results. Other duties as assigned. Qualifications : Post-secondary education with a Technical Diploma or Science Degree would be an asset.

1-3 years of laboratory experience Basic computer skills with experience with MS office and LIMS. Good communication skills and fluency in English both verbal and written.

Ability to handle multiple tasks within a fast-paced work environment. Hand-Eye coordination and attention to detail. Mature work ethic, with the ability to work independently and in a team environment.

Ability to lift 20+ pounds on a consistent basis. Work Environment : This position requires a person to stand, sit and lift throughout the shift in a laboratory environment.

Manual dexterity is required to perform repetitive tasks. PPE is required where applicable. AGAT Laboratories would like to thank all applicants;
