Job Description
The House of Commons Parliamentary Precinct Operations is currently looking to staff the Driver / Operator position.
In this role, you will be responsible for providing bus transportation to Members of Parliament, Senators, Officers and employees of the House, Senate, Library of Parliament, Supreme Court of Canada, House Administration officials and other identified authorized users.
In addition, you will be required to drive trucks and cargo vans in order to provide pick-up and delivery service of items, including heritage furniture and classified documents, between locations on the Hill and throughout the National Capital Region. You will be responsible to provide high quality and punctual transportation, according to schedules and service level standards, and comply with the HoC as well as Ontario and Quebec transportation authorities’ policies and procedures for safety and security.
The person will be required to work overtime or irregular hours, on short notice.
Please note that selected candidates will be required to provide a recent copy of their driving record at a later stage in the recruitment and selection process.
