Job description

Our Crown Corporation client is hiring for an Advisor, Contract Management to join their team on a 6 month contract. This would be working in a hybrid working model, working one day onsite per week downtown Ottawa.

The successful candidate will provide critical advice and expertise on public sector procurement and contracting policies and processes. The Advisor will play a key role in supporting organizational objectives by ensuring effective contract management, mitigating risks, and facilitating the cost-effective and timely delivery of goods and services.

This position offers a dynamic opportunity to work on major funded programs, corporate initiatives, and day-to-day operational activities, ensuring compliance, protecting organizational interests, and fostering efficient procurement practices.

Key Responsibilities :

  • Provide expert advice on public sector procurement and contracting policies to support organizational objectives.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant regulations and procedures across all procurement and contracting activities.
  • Develop and maintain contracting instruments to meet program, project, and operational needs.
  • Identify and mitigate commercial and reputational risks associated with contracts and procurement.
  • Ensure the organization is protected through legally sound and clearly defined contracts.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to support the cost-effective and timely delivery of goods and services.
  • Coordinate contracting activities for funded programs, key corporate projects, and operational sustainment.

Qualifications :

Education and Experience :

  • Post-secondary education in business, commerce, or a related field.
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in procurement and contracting within a demanding, multidisciplinary environment.
  • At least 3 years of experience managing contracting activities in the public sector.
  • Skills and Competencies :

  • Proficiency in contract management software and Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, etc.).
  • Strong knowledge of public sector procurement practices and policies.
  • Exceptional organizational and communication skills to support diverse stakeholders.
  • Bilingualism (English and French) at BBB level is required.
