The rate of pay will be $100K-$115K
This will be a full-time and permanent position
Must reside or be willing to relocate within 50kms of Fort Macleod
Position Summary :
Directing and supporting Facilities, Plants, Public Works Foremen
Creating job descriptions / manuals for all Operational Service positions
In consultation with Department Foremen, evaluate, promote, train, and discipline staff in Operational Services positions
Overseeing maintenance, safety, efficiency, and cost-effectiveness of operational services, ensuring legal requirements are always met
Evaluating facilities, equipment, & maintenance programs and suggesting improvements, repairs, deletions, or acquisitions to the Town Council
Developing and monitoring approved budgets
Building, implementing, and maintaining the Health & Safety Program
Reporting on and recommending changes to policies or bylaws
Keeping up to date with trends and legislated requirements
Serving as a Technical Advisor to Town Council, management, staff, and the public
Fostering positive relationships with government agencies and professional organizations
Utilizing data from research, evaluations, and consultations with Foremen, CAO, and Town Council; formulating plans to meet current and future needs of the community
Managing projects and initiatives across divisions to ensure projects remain aligned with division goals and objectives
Required Qualifications :
Post-secondary education
5 – 7 years of proven management experience in a unionized environment; familiarity with collective agreements, bargaining, and negotiations
5+ years experience working in municipal government as a public works foreman, operations superintendent, or other applicable role
Working knowledge of government legislation, bylaws, regulations, and policies
Flexibility while working with a variety of departments and deadlines
Capable of lifting 50lbs (equipment / supplies) and using PPE when required
Ability to work under pressure with tight deadlines and frequent interruptions
Diplomatic demeanor when interacting with customers, employees, contractors, developers, and government representatives
