Role Summary
As a Senior Consultant, Communications & Engagement, you will help manage and deliver client projects across the business, including strategic plans, communications, multi-audience engagement plans, policy papers and other complex deliverables, working directly with our team, roster of talent and clients. You have a mind for public affairs, you are an exceptional writer and you are both entrepreneurial and resourceful. You will help develop creative ideas and products, manage schedules and budgets, and write and assemble materials for a range of channels that achieve results. In all of the work that you do, you will be encouraged to think outside of the box, and you will be supported by a team of practitioners who have your back. This role is based in Saint John, Fredericton or Moncton, New Brunswick. For the right candidate, we are open to other remote work locations in New Brunswick.
Key Responsibilities
- Help to manage, develop and deliver client projects, with a specific focus on critical thinking, research and strong writing, including editing, proofing, formatting and coordinating the design of materials, as required. These materials include, but are not limited to : (1) strategic communications, engagement and marketing plans; (2) strategic communications, engagement and marketing products (research reports; project plans / schedules; collateral copy; website, social media and other digital content; speaking notes; news releases and other media relations materials, etc.); (3) Policy-oriented (research, policy writing, briefing notes, position papers, etc.); (4) strategic and corporate plans; (5) facilitated workshop materials.
- Write compelling copy for a range of channels, both print and digital (e.g., news releases, publications, social media, websites, etc.)
- Lead primary and secondary research to inform client projects, with the help of our vendor partners as appropriate.
- Write, edit, proof and format communications materials, working with our designers as needed.
- Contribute to the development of creative ideas and assets.
- Manage project schedules, budgets and overall delivery with precision and excellence.
- Remain current with trends and best practices within primary area(s) of expertise and bring learnings to client projects and others within the firm.
- Support business development through the coordination of proposal development, including project management, research and proposal writing.
- Help manage our roster of creative talent, supervising materials production, photo and video shoots, event logistics, etc.; contracts; schedules; and budgets for key projects, maintaining a high level of quality.
- Deliver exceptional client service.
- Contribute to the firm’s vision and business plans, and help build a culture of learning, excellence, client-centricity, inclusive leadership and fun.
