Overview Garmin Canda is looking for an HR Business Partner/professional to develop and build relationships with hiring managers to proactively recruit, interview and hire for moderately complex positions. Provide coaching and counselling to managers and associates on moderately complex associate relations issues, including delivering corrective action and termination decisions as needed. Essential Functions Serve as HR point of contact for manager/director level Proactively source quality candidates through utilization of existing sourcing options (job boards, social media, networks, ATS), attending job fairs, membership in professional organizations, networking and attending Garmin charity and sponsored events to connect with and develop candidate interest in existing and future positions Suggest, plan and/or coordinate creative and innovative recruitment strategies, including but not limited to marketing, communications, job fairs, professional organizations, networking events and/or informational sessions Counsel associates and management on conflict resolution, moderately complex associate relations issues, performance management, compensation and other confidential Human Resources matters including delivering corrective action and termination decisions to associates Participate in weekly associate relations meetings, provide updates to AR team, and track corrective action in the assigned database Conduct basic or moderately complex thorough, effective and objective internal investigations as needed. Partner with legal if needed Deliver corrective action and termination decisions if applicable to associates Conduct exit interviews and participate in unemployment claim hearings Recommend methods for enhanced efficiency, productivity and delivery of achievement of HR tactical goals Develop knowledge in other HR business functions (benefits, HRIS, training, compensation, wellness, strategy) Demonstrate a commitment to data integrity by ensuring accurate, complete and thorough documentation and tracking of step/status for each candidate in Garmin's Applicant Tracking System by updating it within a timely manner and verifying accuracy through reports Ensure compliance with HR related legislation and policies with oversight from HR management and Legal Explore solutions presented by vendors/suppliers and may serve as a frontline liaison with vendors Demonstrate accountability for ensuring a quality workforce by achieving annual retention goals. Mentor and/or provide training for less experienced team members (HRG 1, Coordinators) Work collaboratively and professionally with other Garmin associates in cross functional teams to achieve goals Serve as a point person for medium sized projects of moderate complexity and impact Gather and analyze data for business solutions, recommend and implement solutions Participate in the annual associate handbook revision process Provide excellent customer service experience to employees and business partners Understand and apply Garmin's Mission, Vision, Values & Quality Policy and enthusiastically exhibit a desire to see Garmin succeed Basic Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in human resources, Business, Psychology, or another relevant discipline AND a minimum of 3 years work experience performing a substantially similar experience OR a Master’s degree in HR, Business or relevant discipline AND a minimum of 1 year experience performing a substantially similar role OR an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience Excellent academics (cumulative GPA greater than or equal to 3.0 as a general rule) Demonstrated understanding of HR related legislation, practices, processes, programs and technology Demonstrated strong and effective verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills Demonstrated a commitment and passion for recruitment and a focus in hiring quality candidates Demonstrated a focus on accountability and achieving recruitment and retention goals Previous experience working with others to resolve problems or conflicts Demonstrated the capacity to mentor or train others Must be detail oriented and demonstrate the ability to prioritize and multi-task effectively with minimal supervision Must be team oriented, possess a positive attitude, and work well with others Must possess demonstrated effective presentation skills and public speaking ability Must possess the ability to maintain flexibility to travel up to 10% of the time Must possess previous experience and commitment to maintaining confidentiality regarding business and Human Resources matters Demonstrated effective time management, organizational and follow up skills with keen attention to detail and quality Demonstrated critical reasoning skills Company Information At Garmin Canada, we create more than just products – we inspire solutions and innovations that change and shape how we live, work and play.
