Summary :

We are currently looking for a Laboratory Technician C . This position is an entry level position where one can gain career experience in a laboratory with direction from the Laboratory Coordinator and other Laboratory team members. The successful candidate will assist with administrative and basic laboratory activities for drinking water analyses with an emphasis on Microbiological techniques. The successful candidates will work out of the Ottawa location.

Duties :

• Perform basic laboratory procedures including preparation of samples, reagents and calibration solutions
• Provide general lab support including washing glassware, cleaning work stations and waste disposal
• Operate instruments, with guidance from senior staff perform maintenance, calibration and troubleshooting
• Perform basic analysis
• Report results
• Other duties as assigned

Qualifications :

Work Environment : This position requires a person to stand, sit and lift throughout the shift in a laboratory environment. Manual dexterity is required to perform repetitive tasks. PPE is required where applicable.
