Duration : 06 MonthsDescription : We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Software & System Tester to join our Victoria BC based team.This position reports to the Software Verification and Validation Manager and is responsible for the software and system testing activities for globally developed new products.The major objectives of the role will be : Conduct an analysis of the product, providing timely feedbackDeveloping efficient test strategies in-line with project constraintsDesigning, implementing, and executing testsReporting on test activitiesQuickly and accurately report on product defectsAssist in the continuous improvement of product quality and contribute to the product and planning decisionsAnd, for those qualified, to help build out test systems : mock ups of energy management systemsBe key part of an agile team from planning to execution to reportingTo be successful in this position you will offer : The aptitude to create intelligent, quality focused, time conscious test strategiesKnowledge of the fundamental test process, test levels, types and techniquesCritical and lateral thinking abilitySkills to break down complex testing problemsA keen eye for detail and a fussy but pragmatic approach to your workThe ability to work with developers, product owners, and application engineers in an agile frameworkThe ability to articulate and justify testing activities to stakeholdersDegree in Electrical Engineering or Power Systems, Computer Science (a considerable amount of experience may preclude the need for a degree)Inquisitive nature : a strong desire to understand the finer details of how things workAbout US Tech Solutions : US Tech Solutions is a global staff augmentation firm providing a wide range of talent on-demand and total workforce solutions.
