As an Associate Chief Underwriter, you will provide in-depth expertise and influence various stakeholders in strategic mandates and complex files that require extensive and profound technical competence related to their field of expertise. The successful incumbent will have strong underwriting expertise and be a resource for various levels of the company and external partners for all lines insurance. More specifically, you will be required to : Take on responsibility for projects, mandates, and development activities specific to underwriting development, the scale and impact of which are significant to the organization and could impact the Desjardins Group as a whole.Working with and under the direction of the Chief Underwriter, lead the development and amendment of underwriting policies, standards, models, and programs to support the company’s strategic projects and mandates. Achieve this by applying the latest underwriting research, modeling techniques, as well as transformative and innovative technologies to continuously evolve underwriting guidelines and practices that are industry-leading and consistent with the company’s risk profile.Advise and support internal and external partners in the positioning, planning, development, fulfillment, and follow-up on various strategic underwriting mandates under your responsibility.Assist the Chief Underwriter in creating and implementing a system to monitor, understand and anticipate trends in underwriting, and make appropriate recommendations to ensure the continued development of underwriting best practices for all lines of insurance.Develop methods and indicators for monitoring the performance of underwriting guidelines and models.
