Role Overview :
Our Toronto office is currently recruiting for a Lead Trust Officer to join our Accounting Department, reporting to the Director of Finance. The successful candidate must be able to work independently as well as being flexible with great customer service skills.
The successful candidate will be responsible for :
- Managing a staff of five, including hiring, training and managing performance
- Ensuring that allocation of work is monitored and distributed to maintain high levels of customer service
- Providing leadership and guidance to the team, fostering a collaborative and productive work environment.
- Conducting regular team meetings to discuss progress, address issues, and plan future activities.
- Mentoring and developing team members, providing opportunities for professional growth and skill enhancement.
- Processing (recording) trust transactions in ELITE 3E.
- Initiating banking transactions of trust funds through online portals.
- Reviewing all trust instructions for compliance with Firm policies.
- Preparing bank deposits, wire instructions to banks and trust cheques.
- Placing and liquidating investments of clients’ trust funds, as instructed.
- Ad hoc analyses and reporting on trust activity.
- Reviewing and filing of trust instruction documentation and escrow agreements.
The successful candidate must have the following education, experience and / or demonstrated skills :
