The Role

Shoreland Transport Ltd., a division of Cooke are looking for an experienced Truck and Trailer Mechanic to join our team temporally in the Stellarton, Nova Scotia shop. To be successful in this role we are looking for someone with outstanding attention to detail, great problem solving and communication skills.

Reporting to the Maintenance Shop Manager, the Truck and Transport Mechanic will:

  • Diagnose problems, perform repairs, and provide preventative maintenance services for our transportation fleet
  • Perform repairs and services on various types of trucks, trailers, and reefer units
  • Perform preventative maintenance at prescribed intervals
  • Due diligence with inventory Management and Paperwork for parts and repair orders
  • Other task that arise withing a repair shop work environment

A successful candidate will:

Have experience reading and understanding work orders, task procedures and technical manuals

  • Always make safety a priority
  • Maintain a clean work area
  • Red Seal Journeyperson would be an asset; however, for the right candidate a 3rd or 4th year apprentices may be considered
  • Effective Communicator as well as a Team player
