Job Description

Established in with the purchase of the historic Bennett property in West Kelowna, BC, Canada, Frind Estate Winery blends agriculture with technological opportunity. Markus Frind’s family has a farming history spanning years, both in Germany and northern BC. After the successful sale of , Markus is focusing his efforts on pairing technology with agriculture to produce terroir-driven British Columbia wines of exceptional quality.

The Role

The Territory Sales Manager identifies, qualifies, and follows up with prospect accounts and leads driving results and closes sales. The Territory Sales Manager works with account managers to establish strong relationships with them. They promote the Frind Estate brand in their set territory of Fraser Valley (Tri-cities, Langley, Abbotsford, Chilliwack, and Mission) within the greater Vancouver, BC area.

Responsibilities

  • Services existing accounts and sign-up new accounts in set territory.
  • Makes outbound calls to potential and existing customers in person, by telephone or e-mail to sell Frind Estate wines to increase sales.
  • Provides product demos on request to qualified customers.
  • Completes demonstrations that are accurate, thorough, and timely.
  • Maintains accurate, complete, and timely sales information.
  • Overcomes business and technical objections of prospective customers.
  • Addresses customer concerns in a professional, productive, and timely manner.
  • Handles inbound sales calls to convert calls into sales.
  • Determines delivery dates to customer based on knowledge of Frind Winery Ltd. production and delivery schedules.
  • Investigates and resolves professionally customer complaints regarding deliveries.
  • Attends trade shows as necessary as it is productive and contributes to increased sales.
  • Analyzes the effectiveness of sales programs; recommends and implements changes based on findings.
  • Develops, manages, and nurtures new business accounts and partnerships to accomplish profit and volume goals.
  • Updates CRM system with notes from account meetings daily.
  • Completes other duties as necessary.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 2 years of direct work experience in a management capacity.
  • Experience in all aspects of liquor sales, including growth strategies, distribution channel management, account development, and business planning.
  • Minimum WSET 2 and Pro Serve Certifications.
  • Some post secondary education.
  • Valid Drivers License with a reliable vehicle is required.
  • Frequent travel throughout the territory is required.
  • Must be able to lift 45 lbs (i.e. : a case of wine) as required.
  • Strong knowledge of retail and / or wholesale sales principles, methods, practices, and techniques.
  • Ability to examine and re-engineer sales operations, form new policies, develop, and implement new strategies.
  • Solid negotiation and conflict resolution skills.
  • Excellent teamwork and team building skills.
  • Build and maintain lasting relationships with corporate departments, key business partners, and customers.
  • Knowledge of cost analysis, fiscal management, and budgeting techniques.
  • Strong problem identification and problem resolution skills.
  • Strong written and verbal skills.
  • Ability to coordinate and organize meetings, exhibits, and other events.
  • High level of proficiency with the following software packages : Google Sheets, Word, Online CRM systems, Mile IQ, Sales Portals & Wine Direct.
  • Ability to conduct presentations and meetings.
