JomboneFort St. John, British ColumbiaThe Role : As an RN in Obstetrics Unit, you will provide comprehensive care to mothers and newborns throughout the prenatal, labor, delivery, and postpartum stages. You will support patients through childbirth, manage labor and delivery processes, and ensure the health and well-being of both mother and baby.
Responsibilities :
Conduct initial and ongoing assessments of patients during labor, including monitoring fetal heart tones, contractions, and maternal vital signs.
Assist in labor and delivery, including providing support and guidance to patients, and managing any complications that arise.
Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by physicians, including pain management and labor induction.
Provide education and counseling to patients and their families on childbirth, breastfeeding, and postpartum care.
Collaborate with obstetricians, midwives, and other healthcare professionals to develop and implement individualized care plans.
Monitor and document patient progress and outcomes, ensuring adherence to safety and infection control protocols.
Requirements :
Bachelor’s degree in nursing.
Current, unrestricted RN license in your province.
Minimum of 2 years of experience in an obstetrics setting preferred.
BLS and NRP certifications.
Strong knowledge of obstetric procedures and protocols.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to provide compassionate care in a high-pressure environment.
