Position : Recreation Therapist / Manager
Employment : Part Time 0.6 FTE (Tuesday, Wednesday & Thursday) [22.5hrs / week]
Working Hours : 08 : 00AM – 04 : 00PM (7.5 hrs / day)
Hourly Rate : $33.28 / hr
Location : Wexford Creek Seniors Community, Nanaimo, BC

Under the direction of the Site Leader, the Recreation Therapist / Manager performs professional duties in planning, developing, coordinating, implementing, and supervising the recreation, therapy, leisure, companion, and volunteer programs for the Care Home.
- Responsible for leading and supervising the relevant Recreation Aides as well as companions and volunteers in the provision of programs for residents to ensure the delivery of resident-centered programs based on residents’ individualized care plans and Park Place policies and procedures.
- Ensures holistic, comprehensive assessments of the residents and recreation care plans are completed on admission and ongoing, including evaluation of the resident’s response to the appropriateness and effectiveness of recreation and leisure programs.
- Chairs monthly meetings (includes minute taking) for Resident / Family Council and Recreation department meetings.
- Participates in interdisciplinary resident care meetings including regular Care Conferences.
