Job description
Are you an experienced Forklift Operator looking for a rewarding contract opportunity in the Manufacturing & Logistics sector? Our team is currently seeking a dedicated and safety-conscious Forklift Operator to join a leading concrete manufacturing organization in Gormley, Ontario. (York Region). This role is perfect for a professional who thrives in a fast-paced outdoor yard environment and possesses specialized experience with heavy equipment.

Location: Gormley, ON
( convenient 20-30 minute commute via car from Newmarket, Aurora, Richmond Hill, Markham, Whitchurch-Stoufville)
Position: Forklift Operator
Pay: $25 per hour
Shift: 7AM-5PM, Monday to Friday
Employment type: Contract, Temporary, 2 months (with potential for extension)

The Forklift Operator is a critical component of the daily supply chain and yard operations within the Manufacturing & Logistics department. In this role, you will be responsible for the safe and efficient movement of concrete products, ensuring that inventory is organized and ready for shipment. Working in Gormley, you will be part of a team that values precision and safety above all else. This position is a 2-month temporary contract with a strong potential for extension based on performance and business needs.

Responsibilities
• Operate a Counterbalance Forklift with a clamp attachment safely and efficiently within the Manufacturing & Logistics yard.
• Load and unload flatbed trucks with concrete products, ensuring loads are secure and balanced.
• Organize and maintain inventory in the outdoor yard to maximize space and accessibility.
• Perform daily pre-operational safety inspections on the forklift and report any maintenance issues immediately.
• Assist with manual labor tasks as required to support the Manufacturing & Logistics team during peak periods.
• Adhere to all health and safety protocols, including wearing required PPE at all times in the yard.
• Coordinate with the shipping and receiving department to ensure timely dispatch of orders.
• Maintain a clean and organized work environment to prevent accidents and improve efficiency

Qualifications
• Valid external Forklift License (Counterbalance).
• Minimum of 2 years of proven experience as a Forklift Operator in a yard or industrial environment.
• Demonstrated experience using a clamp attachment is mandatory for this role.
• Ability to commute to the Gormley/York Region area reliably (personal vehicle recommended).
• Commitment to a 2-month contract with a 7:00 AM start time.
• Previous experience in the stone, concrete, or heavy Manufacturing & Logistics industry is a strong asset.
