Founded more than 75 years ago in Fremont, California, IEM grew alongside Silicon Valley and today operates over 1.7 million square feet of manufacturing capacity. With $1B+ in annual sales and 10,000+ commissioned projects across technology, data centers, commercial, energy, utilities, healthcare, industrial, and infrastructure markets, IEM continues to deliver exceptional product quality, dependable service, and the flexibility to meet complex technical requirements at scale.

Position Summary

IEM is currently seeking a Recruiter / Talent Acquisition Partner to support the hiring efforts for our Surrey, B.C. locations. The role reports to the Talent Acquisition Manager and is part of the Talent Acquisition (TA) team. The Recruiter will consult with hiring managers, develop and execute talent strategies, identify and engage candidates, and ensure an excellent experience for stakeholders. This position follows a hybrid schedule with two required in‑office days each week.

Key Responsibilities

  • Partner with hiring managers, business leaders, and HR colleagues to meet overall business and talent goals, providing talent solutions and advising when necessary.
  • Develop and execute macro and micro talent acquisition strategies for supported businesses.
  • Educate hiring managers and stakeholders on TA policies and practices to maintain a consistent, engaging candidate experience.
  • Set expectations and communicate regularly with all stakeholders, including managers, candidates, vendors, and internal partners.
  • Identify, attract, and assess talent efficiently while maintaining high service levels for multiple hiring managers and candidates.
  • Collaborate with business leaders and HR on new‑hire onboarding, employee experience, and retention.
  • Leverage data to influence and drive decision making.
  • Evaluate labor market conditions and industry intelligence to inform optimal business and talent decisions.
  • Identify opportunities for continuous improvement and innovation, challenging the status quo when appropriate.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable Federal, State, and Local regulations.
  • Provide light international travel to U.S. offices (~5%).

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Minimum of 5 years of similar talent acquisition experience in a corporate setting.
  • Experience recruiting within electrical distribution and control systems, manufacturing, or a similarly engineered industrial environment, especially engineering and / or manufacturing operations talent.
  • Demonstrated ability to build relationships, partner with, and influence stakeholders throughout the end‑to‑end TA process.
  • Proven ability to assess candidate motivations, qualifications, and potential quickly and effectively.
  • Career ambition with a track record of growth and increasing responsibility; highly promotable for broader leadership roles within a fast‑paced, high‑growth organization.
  • General knowledge of applicable Federal, State, and Local regulations.
  • Flexible, adaptable team player who thrives in a collaborative, ever‑changing environment.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication, multi‑tasking, organizational, follow‑up, and negotiating skills with strong attention to detail.
  • Skills in influencing and advising, relationship building, ethical conduct, service orientation, and time management.
  • Strong sense of urgency and the ability to balance persistence with patience.
  • Ideal Candidate Profile

  • Experience in a high‑growth startup‑type environment and a mature, well‑established corporate environment.
  • At least 2 years of experience in a search firm or agency in a client and candidate management capacity (preferred).
  • 10 plus years of similar talent acquisition experience.
  • Experience with Greenhouse and / or comparable ATS / CRM systems.
  • Expertise in employer branding and social recruiting.
  • Compensation

Compensation actually offered for this role will take into account internal equity and may vary depending on the candidate’s geographic region, job‑related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors. A bonus and / or long‑term incentive units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to the full range of medical, financial, and other benefits, dependent on the level and position offered.
