Job description
Adecco is currently hiring a Track Maintainer / Truck Driver for a full-time opportunity. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys hands-on outdoor work, values safety, and thrives in a team-based environment where physical work and attention to detail are key.
Working as part of a field crew, you will play an essential role in maintaining safe and reliable railway infrastructure while also supporting the transportation of materials and equipment to various job sites.

  • Job Type: Full-time | Permanent (Unionized position)
Responsibilities
  • Inspect and maintain railway track structure and right-of-way in accordance with established standards
  • Participate in the repair and replacement of rails, ties, switches, and ballast
  • Correct track alignment, surface, and gauge deviations
  • Install and maintain railway crossings and related infrastructure
  • Operate trucks to transport materials, equipment, and personnel to and from work sites
  • Load, secure, and unload cargo in compliance with safety procedures
  • Conduct pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections and report any maintenance issues
  • Support track safety compliance and implement safety directives
  • Clear vegetation, brush, snow, and debris from railway right-of-way
  • Assist with drainage maintenance and general site cleanup
  • Complete inspection, inventory, and work activity reports
  • Support crew leadership in maintaining safe and efficient operations
Requirements
  • High School Diploma or equivalent (GED)
  • Valid Driver's License
  • Experience in a physically demanding outdoor work environment
  • Ability to work in all weather conditions
  • Ability to lift up to 70 lbs (32 kg) occasionally and perform repetitive physical tasks
  • Strong teamwork and communication skills
  • Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
  • Willingness to work shifts, travel, and be away from home when required
  • Must be eligible to work and reside within Canada
