We are seeking a proactive and skilled candidate to join our growing technology team. This individual will play a key role in bridging Tier 1 service desk support and Tier 3 subject matter experts (SMEs), ensuring the stability and performance of our critical infrastructure, systems, and tools.
This role encompasses a broad range of responsibilities, including Microsoft environment administration, cybersecurity management, networking and datacenter support, and application infrastructure support. The successful candidate will be joining a highly autonomous, skilled team that is forward thinking, creative, and effective.
This role is based at our Kitchener office, with occasional travel to other locations as needed.
Key Responsibilities
- Microsoft Environment Support : Manage and support Microsoft tools, including Azure, Active Directory (AD), Office 365, Power Platform and Dynamics 365.Assist with automation initiatives, improving workflows across teams.Troubleshoot user access issues and maintain configuration integrity.
- Cybersecurity Tools Management : Daily monitoring, management, and troubleshooting of cybersecurity tools.Investigate alerts and respond to potential threats, escalating to Tier 3 experts as needed.Ensure security tools are properly configured and up to date
- Networking Support (WLAN / LAN / Wi-Fi) : Provide operational support for local area networks (LAN), wireless networks (Wi-Fi), and other connectivity solutions.Troubleshoot and resolve networking issues across multiple sites.Leverage network monitoring tools to proactively address issues.Collaborate with vendors and Tier 3 experts as needed.
- Data Center Infrastructure Support : Support and maintain datacenter infrastructure,Perform routine health checks and assist in capacity planning.Coordinate with vendors and Tier 3 experts to address infrastructure-related incidents.
- Application Infrastructure Support : Provide day-to-day support for application infrastructure and ensure smooth operations of essential software platforms.Collaborate with internal teams and external vendors to support application deployments and updates.Identify and resolve application performance issues, escalating to Tier 3 as needed.
- Ticketing System and Knowledge Base Management : Manage tickets to ensure timely resolution of issues and proper escalation paths.Develop and maintain comprehensive knowledge base (KB) articles for troubleshooting and operational processes.Continuously improve documentation to support Tier 1 service desk staff and streamline internal operations.
- Collaboration and Continuous Improvement :
- Work closely with Tier 3 experts, vendors, and cross-functional teams to implement new technologies and upgrades.Participate in on-call rotations and respond to critical incidents as needed.Identify opportunities for process improvements and automation to enhance operational efficiency.
