JOB PURPOSE
To Collaboratively participate in the planning and delivery of total nursing care to meet individual patients needs in accordance with the philosophy, objectives and policies of Healthy aging and palliative care departments. As a member of an interdisciplinary team, provides quality patient care within the scope of professional nursing practice to patients and families in the 4 East Healthy Aging / ALC unit and Palliative care Unit.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Current Registration as a practicing member of the Nurses Association of New Brunswick
- Successful completion of Basic Cardiac Life Support Course and recertified yearly as a condition of continuing employment.
- Possesses the medical knowledge and clinical skills necessary to provide care for the population of patients
- Demonstrated ability to respond to emergency situations, rapidly changing priorities and complex patient care needs.
- Obtain palliative care education as directed
- Obtain geriatric care education as directed.
- Obtain Care of the Dying and family care education.
- Obtain LEAP course
- Must be able to work rotating shifts, as assigned, including weekends and holidays throughout the year.
- Ability to preform the duties of the position
- Good work record
