VenorLower Sackville, NS- Full-time
Are you a strategic and systems-savvy supply chain professional who thrives on optimizing operations, leading teams, and delivering results? Our client, SureShot Solutions, is seeking a hands-on Supply Chain & Procurement Manager to lead key functional areas—procurement, inventory, planning, and scheduling—while providing direct leadership to the Logistics Lead & Scheduler and the Purchasing Agent. Reporting directly to the Vice President of Finance and Administration, this role is a critical member of the Supply Chain Management (SCM) Team and plays a central role in driving operational efficiency and supplier performance .
For over 40 years, SureShot Solutions has been a trusted partner to many of the world’s most dominant foodservice brands. Through cutting-edge product development, precision engineering, high-quality manufacturing, and exceptional customer service, they enable consistent performance across global foodservice operations. With a presence in over 20 countries, they are recognized for their innovation, customization, durability, and reliability.
Key Responsibilities :
- Lead and manage the Supply Chain team, including the Logistics Lead & Scheduler (responsible for production scheduling and inbound / outbound logistics) and the Purchasing Agent (responsible for sourcing, vendor communication, and purchase order management), providing direction, coaching, and performance management to ensure alignment with business goals.
- Lead supplier negotiations and strategic sourcing initiatives to drive value and reduce costs.
- Plan and implement processes for parts switch-overs, lifecycle parts planning for end-of-life product lines, and stock code management.
- Work cross-functionally with Engineering and vendors to identify and implement direct material cost reduction opportunities.
- Lead the creation of supply chain risk management strategies, including contingency planning, to ensure continuity of operations.
- Develop and implement dynamic inventory control methods (e.g., EOQ, EBQ, Min / Max, safety stock levels).
- Track and analyze full inventory costs, including landed and carrying costs, and identify cost-saving opportunities.
- Evaluate and improve inventory turnover rates, leveraging data to drive strategic decisions.
- Lead initiatives to consolidate freight and improve overall supply chain efficiency.
- Act as the Syspro Champion—evaluate, implement, and train others on new functionality and tools to enhance planning and procurement processes.
- Introduce or improve systems and tools that support forecasting, scheduling, and procurement activities.
- Evaluate demand forecasts to support supply chain planning decisions, including parts procurement, production scheduling, and scenario-based what-if analyses.
- Support revision and routings management to ensure efficient production workflows.
- Develop and maintain supply chain KPIs; regularly report on performance and recommend improvement strategies. Maintain supplier scorecards.
About You :
You bring a solid background in supply chain, procurement, or operations management, with particular strength in inventory and materials planning. Experience in a manufacturing environment is valuable, as you understand the complexities of production workflows, BOMs, and supplier coordination in that context. You’re a confident and collaborative people leader, capable of guiding team members with clarity and accountability, and you’re energized by developing talent and creating high-performing teams.
You’re also highly analytical and data-driven, always looking for ways to improve systems, processes, and outcomes. You have hands-on experience with ERP systems—Syspro being a strong asset—and you’re eager to become a subject matter expert in the tools that drive procurement and planning efficiency. Cross-functional collaboration comes naturally to you, and you’re equally comfortable working with Engineering, Production, and external suppliers to keep things running smoothly.
At Venor and SureShot Solutions, we embrace a culture of belonging in the workplace. No matter who you are, where you’re from, how you think, what you believe in, or who you love, we welcome your application. We all come from different backgrounds and different walks of life, bringing in unique perspectives and experiences. We encourage applications from 2SLGBTQ+, Black, Indigenous, and People of Colour (BIPOC), women, newcomers to Canada, and people with disabilities.
