Are you a detail-oriented and motivated student looking to gain hands-on experience in quality assurance? Forbes Bros Ltd. is seeking an Engineering Summer Student - Quality Assurance to join our team from May to August.

In this role, you'll support various quality-related initiatives, including the development and implementation of Quality Management System programs, working with quality software to manage construction activities, and creating guides and forms to enhance compliance with standards, specifications, and contractual requirements. Key Responsibilities :

  • Lives Forbes Bros. value of WE WORK SAFE & never compromising on safety in all aspects of our every day
  • Work closely with Procore staff to support the development and implementation of software that assists Operations staff in the planning, execution, tracking, and documentation of quality activities on projects.
  • Responsible to support implementation and maintenance of ISO 9001-2015 compliance program.
  • Become familiar with and support ongoing compliance with local, national, and international standards and legislation.
  • Work with Quality and Operations staff to develop Key Performance Indicators (KPI) for monitoring the Quality program implementation and effectiveness.
  • Participate in periodic QMS reviews and audits to ensure that the QMS is established and followed by Forbes Bros group of companies
  • Provide input into Quality improvement initiatives for all company groups and services.
  • Participate in regular Quality meetings to review progress, milestones, objectives, etc.
  • Support the Quality Control Manager in the development and implementation of the Project Quality Plan, Inspection Test Plan and Quality documents / forms based on project requirements.
  • Assist with the development of new quality processes.
  • Participate in the investigation and resolution of quality issues - Root cause analysis, disposition, follow-up and close out.
  • Assist Quality staff with project closeouts and lesson learned at the end of the projects.

    • What We Are Looking For :

  • Enrollment in a bachelor's degree program in Civil or Mechanical Engineering in an accredited university; or enrollment in a college level diploma program in Civil or Mechanical engineering Technology at an accredited college.
  • Experience in construction and or quality management in linear infrastructure projects would be considered an asset.
  • Intermediate computer skills in the MS Office Suite of applications and the ability to learn new software applications related to the Quality Management System.
  • Strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills
  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects / activities in a dynamic fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent time-management and organizational skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
  • Highly effective at building and managing relationships within and external to the organization.
  • Flexible, willing to work long hours if required.
  • A self-motivated individual that requires minimum supervision and with goal and team-oriented attitude.
  • Ability to travel as needed.
