Job description
Our client, a well-established general contractor with nearly 30 years in the industry, is seeking a Construction Project Manager to join their team in Surrey, British Columbia. The ideal candidate will bring experience managing commercial tenant improvement and / or ground-up construction projects, with values ranging between $2M and $25M.
Key Responsibilities :
Manage the full project lifecycle from pre-construction through to closeout, ensuring quality, budget, and schedule are maintained.
Collaborate with architects, consultants, subtrades, and clients to address challenges and maintain strong working relationships.
Issue and track subtrade contracts, insurance, bonds, WCB notices, and other project startup documentation.
Utilize project management software (e.g., Procore, Smartsheet, Site Docs) to manage budgets, schedules, RFIs, submittals, change orders, and meeting minutes.
Work closely with site superintendents to deliver high-quality results and ensure field and office teams are aligned.
Oversee financial performance of projects, including invoicing, budget updates, and reporting to management.
Ideal Candidate Requirements :
5–10 years of experience in commercial construction, ideally as a Project Manager.
Strong understanding of construction sequencing, subtrade coordination, and financial management.
Post-secondary education in construction or a related field is preferred (e.g., BCIT or similar).
Comfortable working independently while maintaining open communication with internal and external stakeholders.
Proficient with construction management tools (e.g., Procore, Microsoft Teams, BuildingConnected).
Ability to travel to job sites throughout BC as required.
