Responsible for monitoring Emergency Response system and follow protocols for same;
Delivers exemplary laundry services including both scheduled and non-scheduled assignments;An integral part of the service team, supports the provision of a quality living environment for seniors;
Ensures all common areas are monitored and kept neat and clean.
Qualifications
Strong knowledge and understanding of the housekeeping process and previous laundry experience in a hotel or retirement environment is considered an asset;
Demonstrates excellent interpersonal, communication and customer service skills;
Strong awareness of environmentally sound practices;Comfortable working alone or in a team environment, self directed approach, able to plan, and organize with minimal supervision;
Ability of meeting the physical requirements of the position;
WHMIS certificates required
Current First Aid preferred
Key Activity Summary
Under the direction of the Lifestyle Manager, the Laundry Attendant delivers exemplary laundry services specifically linens (dining room) and sheets from tenant rooms. In accordance with the Vibrant Advantage™ approach and philosophy, respects client requests for privacy and choice when delivering services;
Expected to exceed the expectations of all guests through empowerment and by responding attentively, efficiently and politely to all tenant requests, questions, concerns, and / or complaints. Consistently take ownership of tenant issues and follow up to ensure satisfaction;
Complete all assigned tasks within the allotted time as outlined. Ensure proper collection of items to be laundered, sorting and identifying re-wash or discard items, washing & drying using specified formulas and programs, ironing linen per training specifications and proper folding, sorting and stocking of all linen. All aspects of laundry room are in working order and that the room is cleaned to the highest quality standards. Ensure regular cleaning of the Laundry Premises. Monitoring chemical levels. Reports any repairs needed to General Manager or Building Services Coordinator;
Clean and maintains all common areas including : main dining room. hallways, restrooms, entrance areas, activity room, arts & crafts room, wine bar, sports lounge, country kitchen, work shop, theatre and offices;
Responsible primarily for setting up of the continental breakfast buffet, making residents feel welcome, comfortable and well attended to;
Ensures security and privacy of all tenants at all times including monitoring of emergency response system;
Adheres to WHMIS protocols and infection control guidelines when performing job functions and maintains MSDS; and Other duties as assigned.
