Job description

Department: Production

Location: Blind River, ON

Hourly Rate: $30.00 probationary rate,$39.86 regular rate

Responsibilities:

  • Manage the raw materials piles, ensuring piles are left in workable conditions.

  • Supplies raw materials to plant with front-end loader

  • Assists Kiln Operator

  • Loads and samples trucks

  • Takes product samples and makes routine analysis

  • Performs visual inspections and auditory checks on operating equipment

  • Performs various clean-up work – physical manual labour will be involved

  • Recognizes problems with equipment and initiates corrective action.

  • Work on different shifts as necessary to backfill other positions throughout the facility.

  • Performs other jobs as assigned by supervision.

Qualifications:

  • Must have a valid Ontario driver's license.

  • Must have a grade 12 education or equivalent.

  • Must have good math and communication skills

  • Working knowledge of the Carmeuse site, its products, the process, the equipment / machinery, etc. would be a plus.

  • Must have the qualifications or the capability to learn to operate the following mobile equipment: Loaders, Back-Hoe, Fork Truck, Water truck, etc.

  • Must have the ability to understand and operate all lime / pulverized lime loading equipment.

  • Must be capable of organizing daily operations to meet required customer shipments and specifications to perform all aspects of truck loading.

  • Must be capable of sampling, testing and clean-up requirements.

  • Must be able to perform the duties of this position, work efficiently, organize duties and be capable of working with a minimum of supervision.

  • Must be able to issue and receive verbal and written instructions and make written/electronic reports, log entries etc.

  • Ability to transition to a Kiln Operator position.
