We are looking for motivated general labourers to join our production team in the Joining department.

QHSE Responsibilities (Quality, Health, Safety & Environment)

  • Comply with QHSE practices and rules, along with regulatory requirements
  • Perform duties in a safe and compliant manner
  • Report injury, near misses, unsafe or improper practices and conditions accurately and promptly.
  • Assist in improving and maintaining safe and healthy working conditions, including participation in problem solving and risk analysis teams
  • Attend all required HSE related training programs when required
  • Coach new employees regarding proper HSE practices
  • Know and understand the HSE plan and objectives
  • Alert colleagues that are taking unnecessary risks
  • Check safety devices prior to beginning operation
  • Actively participate in HSE processes
  • Question any work that you feel is unsafe and do not participate in work that will endanger the health or safety of any employee.
  • Always wear appropriate personal protective equipment

Job Requirements

  • Must efficiently set up and start up automatic Joining machines to ensure a well operating machine before it is turned over to the Joiner.
  • Conducts mechanical repair, adjustments and fine tunes joining equipment readying for auto fringing and joining.
  • Maintains the auto joining machines in good working order at all times.
  • Works closely with Engineer, Auto Joining, Joiners and Supervisors on machine fabric concerns.
  • To be capable of performing all tasks required to set up a joining table for joining, , install and draw root strip, install fabrics, understand all required information on joining manufacturing ticket and know how to locate and install the correct pattern cards. This would require an in-depth knowledge of weave structures.
  • To assist in installing fabrics in fringing tables and remove fringed fabrics from the fringing tables in preparation for movement to joining tables.
  • To prepare root strip to ensure yarns are not twisted and crimp is not damaged.
  • To preform fabric joining and fringing in accordance with productivity, quality and manufacturing specifications.
  • To prepare fringe selector ensuring yarns are not twisted and crimp is not damaged.
  • To work safely and maintain a high standard of housekeeping.
  • Must be familiar with all "Work Instructions" specific to Joiner 1’s via VKS and all other relevant work instructions. Must keep current on new processes and process changes.

Competitive Salary

Shift premiums offered for 12-hour shifts and night shifts
